ahhhh.... LOVE my new place! :)
got the keys today, and decided to walk over to see how it looked like while still empty... clean, beautiful hardwood floors, high ceilings, and yes, it is twice as large as my old place, very nice large bay windows... i think i'll put my desk by one of them, so i can work while looking at the trees outside... :)

but of course, nothing is perfect... it turned out that it does not have laundry in the building!!! man, and all this time i was so excited thinking that i don't have to drag my laundry ever again to kiki's place! oh well... :P

would probably start moving tonight, so that we won't have as much tomorrow morning...

got a nice surprise today: my piece was selected into lanfranco's ping-pong experiment! :)

hmmm... wonder if i could fix the image and re-submit... :P
i only spent like 2-3 hrs total working on it, just for fun, and i didn't really try to clean it before i sent it out to them... like the orange sky is too orange, and there are some other mess i just can't stand looking at... oh well... *shrugs*

anyway, there are four other indonesians, too, including satya and harry... congrats guys! :)

i woke up jumping off the bed this morning at 9:30... i was supposed to be at work already at 9:30! ended up just washing my face and brushing my teeth and then off to work.... i was half an hour late, but luckily nobody seemed to notice... ;)

haven't had enough sleep since last week... i was hoping that i could catch up on the weekend, but that didn't happen. infact, it got worse these past 3 days (didn't get to bed until 5:30am on friday night, 4am on saturday and 3:00am last night). but oh well... it was a nice weekend, though... spent quality time with my friends and just talked and talked about anything and everything until the wee morning hours...

oh, i went to see 'simone,' al pacino's new movie, on friday night. it's my new favorite movie! everybody should go and see it!!! it has every element a movie should have (to me, at least)... it is intellectually satisfying, has something to say but managed to stay light and entertaining, very funny, and, of course, it has al pacino! :)

saturday night— finally finished watching space odyssey... WOW! (that's all i can say about the movie) it gave me a whole new respect for stanley kubrick... what a genius!

i'm finally catching up on movies i wanted to see these past couple of weeks... so far i've rented piñero, taxi driver, metropolis, 2001: space odyssey, and amores perros. the last two i still have yet to watch...

piñero was a really good movie, maybe the character was a bit too romanticized, but it's highly recommended nonetheless... :)

i think i broke a personal record tonight... the longest time i've ever spent talking about a bad movie...

me and a couple of friends were talking about the worst movie experience we ever had... and i guess cuz we all had similar bad impressions about the movie "pearl harbor" (even though 2 of us hadn't even seen it — i know, i know, it's kinda unfair but who cares), we ended up discussing and making fun of it for hours... giggling and scheming all the possible parodies we could make out of the movie... it's just so full of old overplayed cliches and bad fabrications that don't make sense, that it just became this constant source of entertainment for us...

basically it's just another cheesy love story with an 'accidental' backdrop of war. a love affair boycotted by bombs. it didn't have to be pearl harbor... it didn't even have to be a war at all. infact, any catastrophic tragic event would do!

the fact that so many people liked it is completely beyond me... it made me wonder if it's just a matter of different tastes and different takes on what's supposed to be 'entertaining', or are we just too cynical to appreciate the movie and its concept of the ideal human relationships?

anyway...

finally went by myself to see "the miles davis story" in the afternoon. it was a documentary of miles davis life, all the way from st louis to his death, as well as his evolution and philosophy as an artist. to me, the movie was mainly talking about his creative process; how he became the great progressive artist that he was. i love miles, he's just so amazing!

all my projects are finally done!!! yay!!! all 6 sites were launched on friday and the freelance presentation piece was handed off on wednesday... i got completely hammered last night and spent almost the entire day today trying to recover from the worst hungover i've had in my entire life! i swear i will never touch alcohol ever again! (well, at least not for a few weeks) x(

the only highlight of today was the nice big dinner at penang... we had 4 different kinds of appetizers (2 orders each) plus 2 bowls of rice and 5-6 different main courses... hmmm... and i wondered how i gained all this extra fat... :P~

man, it's been a very long day... just finally got home after staring at the computer at work for more than 11 hours... almost passed out at the subway cuz i'm starving... too tired to cook anything except for instant noodles, though... haha... how pathetic... and after this i have to get the opening animation done by tomorrow, which means i have to pull an all-nighter... hmm... it's gonna be another l o o n g night...

ok, so it seems that i am gonna get paid... so that's good...
but it just absolutely drove me MAD how she went all "oh, i'm suprised at the number of hours you spent on this. it's way over what i anticipated." what the fuck did she expect, that i just pulled it out of thin air and it magically appeared??? 8 hours for 30 pages is quick! and that's already including edits!!

stayed at work until 5:30 on friday... yuckkk... and the summer fridays are almost over, too! i should've just gone home at noon like everybody else! X(

went to flash's for a few drinks with dini, gusye and kiki, and then off to sophia for another merengue lesson... unfortunately, kiki couldn't get parking so we only stayed there for half an hour or so, and then headed off to doremi for karaoke... it was so much FUN! we really enjoyed ourselves and did all sorts of crazy things i'd rather not mention here... :P

saturday and sunday i pretty much worked all day... i did take a little break with wendy on saturday night... went to kendall to watch notorious c.h.o... it was hilarious!!! :D

went to sophia's for merengue and salsa lessons on friday... i had no idea that merengue is SO sensual... it would make for a perfect excuse to try and seduce someone... haha ... unfortunately there wasn't any promising prospective victims... xP

anyway, i absolutely love the roofdeck... it's just so nice to hang out up there with your friends while sipping your sangria and enjoying the view of boston...

it's mina's housewarming party on saturday, followed by anime + street fighter at billy's... 'jin roh' was a really good movie... i like how the story is intertwined with the little red riding hood tale...

had a little farewell party thing today after church... soto + perkedel + krupuk udang + sambel plus es campur.... yummmm... :D
